Neuse River House

The house is located at the mouth of the Neuse River. Constrained by a narrow riverfront lot, the major challenge of this project was to design a house that takes full advantage of the river views. The Kitchen, Dining Room / Living Room and the Master Bedroom open to the river side. A Media Room, Art Studio and other more private spaces face the land side.

Taking a cue from local farm buildings, the light filled center living / dining space has a vaulted ceiling and clerestory windows on three sides. Behind that, a second story has two Guest Rooms and a bathroom. The “wings” contain the other spaces.

The interior is rich in detail but still projects a clean modern feeling.
